Research Infrastructure Service Providers
More than 20 CORBEL partner institutes from 10 research infrastructures join forces in this 2nd Open Call and offer open access to their services and technologies.
This section provides an overview on the research infrastructures and introduces the respective service providers to you. If you were an interested observer or applicant in our 1st Open Call already, you will notice that the breadth of our service provision has even increased since then! Services in the medical field are more strongly represented now.
Please be aware that your application will only be considered if you you have discussed your project proposal and the service access modalities with the contact persons at the different partner institutes before you submit your proposal. This will contribute to the strength and success of your application. In the application process, you and your requested service providers will be asked to confirm that prior discussions have taken place!
Please note: Data that is generated from CORBEL access stays with the infrastructure user and can be used for publication. The support received from CORBEL and the individual service providers must be mentioned in the acknowledgement section of any publication resulting from this project.
Further details can be found here.
BBMRI-ERIC
Biobanking and BioMolecular resources Research Infrastructure
BBMRI-ERIC facilitates access to more than 500 European biobanks. Researchers can request access to the following main resources: human biological samples and associated data as well as additional services offered by the Partner Biobanks (e.g., hosting of biological material, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, or metabolomics services). Researchers are invited to identify biobanks of potential interest in the BBMRI-ERIC Directory and then proceed to request availability of the desired resources by clicking on “Go to sample / data negotiation” via the BBMRI-ERIC Negotiator (the BBMRI-ERIC headquarters can help in this process if needed).

Academy of Athens (BRFAA)
EATRIS-ERIC
European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine
The European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine (EATRIS) aims to make translation of scientific discoveries into medical products more effective to ultimately improve human health and quality of life. It supports clients from academia and industry in developing their biomedical discoveries for novel preventive, diagnostic or therapeutic products up to clinical proof of concept. Around 90 academic institutions of excellence in translational research, based in 12 European Member States, are currently members of the research infrastructure.

European Infrastructure of Open Screening Platforms for Chemical Biology
The enormous effort involved in high throughput screening for chemical tools and drugs will be supported by building targeted strategies based on integrated clinical, cheminformatic, and biomolecular data.
Service provider
Screening Unit & Medicinal Chemistry Group,
Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut FMP
Due to a high demand for projects involving EU-OPENSCREEN screening resources in the first submission rounds of the 2nd CORBEL Open Call, there are no capacities for additional EU-OPENSCREEN projects available in CORBEL anymore.
Euro-BioImaging
European Research Infrastructure for Imaging Technologies
in Biological and Biomedical Sciences
Euro-BioImaging (EuBI) will provide open physical user access to a broad range of state-of-the-art imaging technologies for life scientists in Europe and beyond. In addition, it will offer image data support and training for infrastructure users and providers and continuously evaluate and include new imaging technologies to ensure cutting-edge services in a sustainable manner.

ISBE
Infrastructure for Systems Biology Europe
ISBE is a knowledge-based research infrastructure that will empower European researchers across academia, clinics and industry to implement systems biology approaches addressing how the dynamic interactions between biological components (molecules, cells, tissues, organs) leads to the functioning of living organisms. ISBE will actively support scientists in facilitating model-compliant data generation, accessing resources for storing and sharing research assets, making their research assets FAIR compliant (that is findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable) and creating predictive computational multi-scale models of biological systems based on integration of highly diverse data sets. In addition, ISBE will provide training for infrastructure users and providers to offer efficient services.
