Privacy on the CORBEL website

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data are collected by the CORBEL website, and by the services we use that you access via the website. It tells you why we collect your data, how they are processed, and how we keep them secure. It also provides contact details you need if you have any queries, requests or complaints concerning our use of your data.

1) The public website (www.corbel-project.eu)

If you browse the public CORBEL website the following information is logged by our server: your browser, operating system, IP address, the date and time of your visit, the pages visited, and the amount of data transferred. This information is used to monitor for suspicious activities (e.g. attempts to hack the site), to diagnose technical problems on the site, and to create anonymous usage statistics. We do not attempt to identify or profile users based on these data. Processing these data is necessary for keeping the website secure and robust. We do not store any access logs.

Use of cookies

In order to optimize the portal, cookies are sometimes used. Cookies are small text files stored locally in the cache memory of your internet browser. You can prevent or limit the use of cookies by adjusting your browser settings to deactivate cookies, or to warn you before accepting any cookies.

“Matomo” statistics tool

The CORBEL website uses the Matomo open source software program for the statistical evaluation of visitor traffic. Matomo uses cookies to help the website analyse how users use the site. The data collected by Matomo is never transferred to other servers or provided to third parties, but is only used in anonymized form to improve our services. IP addresses are stored in Matomo without their final tuple. It can be inferred from these data which network a request was made from, but not from which computer.

You can deactivate the acquisition of data by Matomo here.

If your browser supports “do not track” technology and you have activated this function, your visit will be ignored automatically.

By using this website, you consent to the processing of the data collected about your visit by Matomo in the manner and for the purpose described above.

Links to other websites

Our website contains links to other websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. When you access other websites via links from the CORBEL website, we advise you to be aware of their privacy policies.

Embedded content from other websites

The recordings of the past CORBEL webinars and videos about CORBEL success stories are available on the CORBEL website as embedded YouTube videos. For embedding the YouTube videos, the expanded data protection mode was used, so that the videos are loaded from the domain youtube.nocookies.com instead of youtube.com. By this, no cookies are installed in your browser by YouTube to capture information about your user behaviour. However, with each visit of one of our sub pages containing an embedded video (even if the video is not played), your browser still communicates with YouTube and Google servers, which means that YouTube and Google gain knowledge of which sub page of our website was visited.

If you are logged in to YouTube, YouTube recognizes with each visit of a sub page containing an embedded video (even if the video is not played), which specific page was visited, collects this information and assigns it to the respective YouTube account. Thus, YouTube and Google receive information that you have visited our website. If you do not want the transmission of this information you can prevent it by logging off from your YouTube account before visiting our website.

Google’s Privacy Policy is available here.

2) The CORBEL newsletter

The CORBEL newsletter is sent with the Direct Mail extension of the website’s content management system TYPO3. These data are only processed with your explicit consent. The sign-up form asks for this consent. We use a “Double-Opt-In” process, asking for your consent a second time by clicking a link you receive via e-mail after signing up. You can unsubscribe from the CORBEL newsletter at any time by simply clicking on the "unsubscribe from this list" link at the bottom of every newsletter e-mail.
